This is a multidisciplinary module designed to develop your ability to interpret, analyse and apply financial, economic and data-driven insights to real-world business problems. The module assesses the dynamics of the business environment, and their effects on customers, business and communities, both at the local and the global level. It integrates fundamental theories of economics, accounting and finance required by businesses in decision making, and utilizes data analytics to construct and present effective arguments for explaining business choices and outcomes.

Module Overview

The current era of world history is presenting many and regularly changing challenges to the business world. It can be suggested that business plays a vital role in promoting global peace and as such, managers need to be flexible and agile in their understanding of these issues. This module will address what the global order has been based on over time, how to critically address rapid change in uncertain business and political environments and applies this knowledge to real world issues such as logistics management. Teaching will include lectures, outside speakers and ‘James Bond’ style seminars.

Module Overview

This module offers you the chance to think creatively, tackle real business challenges and develop the marketing skills most valued by employers. Through exploring market trends, emerging technologies and changing customer needs, students identify new business opportunities and learn how to use market data to support your ideas. You develop the ability to define a target market, design an effective marketing mix and communicate their concepts with confidence. Alongside marketing knowledge, you will gain valuable insights into your own strengths through skills mapping and self assessment, helping you to build a strong professional identity and stand out in the graduate job market.

The module explores topics such as organisational design, leadership and followership, employee motivation, power and politics, organisational culture, workforce planning, employee relations, teamwork, and corporate responsibility and ethics. Through engagement with relevant theories and organisational examples, you will develop an understanding of how leadership, human resource management practices, and organisational processes influence employee behaviour and organisational outcomes.

In this module, you’ll work on live innovation challenges set by industry experts, developing creative and commercially viable solutions using design thinking and entrepreneurial approaches. Through hands-on workshops and a professional innovation pitch, you’ll gain practical experience highly valued by employers. Business Finance Practice offers an engaging introduction to how financial decisions drive business success. You will learn how organisations assess investment opportunities, manage cash flow, raise finance, and create long-term value. Using real-world examples, the module develops your ability to evaluate risk and return, understand financial markets, and support strategic decision-making.

Designed with employability in mind, you will build practical skills in financial analysis, problem-solving, and data interpretation. Module Overview

This module explores how human resource management operates in culturally diverse and global work environments and why cultural intelligence is essential for effective people management. You will examine how cross-cultural differences influence communication, collaboration, and leadership, while developing awareness of the challenges and opportunities associated with managing people across cultures. The module also introduces themes such as cross-cultural management, global mobility, and global leadership, preparing you with the knowledge and understanding needed to work confidently and responsibly in international organisational contexts.

Lincoln International Business School (LIBS) believes that an option to study overseas is a valuable educational opportunity for our students.

The optional year is intended to:

- enable students to benefit from studying similar subjects within a cross cultural environment, by exposing students to a wider academic and cultural experience;

- facilitate reflexivity in learning and personal and professional development;

- enhance their future employment opportunities by increasing their cultural and professional mobility.

This module is optional for all taught on campus undergraduate students within Lincoln International Business School. Study Abroad is a year long module which enables students to spend time studying abroad at one of the University’s approved partner institutions.

During the year spent abroad, students share classes with local students and study on a suite of locally-delivered taught modules which have been approved in advance by the University. As many partner institutions support internships it is anticipated that some students will elect to combine study (minimum one semester equivalent) with work and or a period of volunteering.

Eligible students must have completed their second year of study to a satisfactory standard (normally with an average of a 2.1 or above, dependent upon partner requirements) standard and successfully completed the application process.

Upon completion of the study period abroad, each student will be required to submit a portfolio including a reflection on the experience of living and studying in a different cultural environment and the skills acquired.

Module Overview

Students can elect to study up to 60 credits abroad at one of our partner universities , usually in the second semester. Usually students will elect to study for a Term and take 60 credits of study.

Module Overview

This module is aimed at those students who have decided to take a year out of formal studies to gain accredited work experience and are registered on a degree programme with an accredited professional practice element. The Professional Practice Year aims to give students a continuous experience of full-time work within an organisation.

It should be a three way co-operative activity between employer, student and University from which all parties benefit. Students can choose to pursue a variety of options including a placement year, a consultancy project or a work-based dissertation. Potential costs relating to this module are outlined in the Features tab.

This dynamic module introduces you to how international business challenges shape decision making, reveals how organisations innovate and compete, and builds the strategic mindset needed to drive business success. Examining real world challenges, undertaking analysis of business models and exploring communication and negotiation strategies, you will discover how strong stakeholder relationships and powerful global networks create lasting competitive advantage. Designed for future leaders and change makers, this module equips you with the insight, confidence and tools to shape the organisations of tomorrow.

Philosophies of Managerial Practice helps you become more reflective, responsible and future-focused manager. You’ll explore how different ways of thinking shape what managers notice, prioritise and decide, drawing on influential ideas from global, feminist and critical philosophers. Using real workplace examples, you’ll learn to interpret complex situations, question assumptions and understand the ethical, power and sustainability issues that shape organisational lives. The module develops key employability skills including, critical thinking, problem solving, ethical judgement and reflective leadership which prepares you to contribute to organisations that value thoughtful, sustainable and responsible management.

This module brings strategy to life through experiential learning through a dynamic business strategy project. The module develops your ability to think like strategists, assess risk, justify competitive and growth choices, and align implementation with long-term objectives. By combining strategic frameworks with experiential learning and reflective evaluation, you build the analytical judgement and governance skills required for senior management and consulting roles.

Module Overview

The module covers the fundamentals of international trade and global sourcing, focusing on trade patterns, global value chains, and sourcing decisions in international business. You will learn how to assess overseas suppliers while considering economic, political, cultural, ethical, and sustainability factors. The course also addresses practical aspects of managing international trade, including documentation, Incoterms®, international logistics, customs procedures, and regulatory compliance. Financial topics like payment methods, trade finance instruments, currency risk, and pricing strategies are explored. Additionally, you’ll complete an individual project designing an international sourcing and trade strategy for a new product, emphasising hands-on learning and professional presentation skills.

Supply chains keep the world moving and they matter most when things go wrong. This module explores how supply‑chain professionals respond to disruptions like floods, pandemics and global shortages, as well as how supply chains are used for good through humanitarian logistics. You’ll learn how organisations use technology, teamwork and supply chain tactics to protect communities and deliver essential supplies in challenging conditions. Crisis simulations and scenario‑planning activities help you build confidence in analysing problems and acting under pressure. With employers increasingly seeking people who can manage risk, support resilience and create social impact, this module builds skills that are valuable, meaningful and in high demand.

Module Overview

Learn Python from scratch and use it to solve real economics and finance problems. Through hands-on labs you’ll work with authentic datasets, clean and combine data, create professional visualisations, and build models such as regression, forecasting, simulation, and portfolio analytics.

You’ll finish the module able to produce a reproducible analysis in a Jupyter notebook and communicate clear, evidence-based insights – skills valued in finance, consulting, policy, data analytics, and graduate roles. No coding experience is required.

Step into the driver’s seat of the digital economy. This module offers a hands-on experience through a Virtual Internship Simulation, where students tackle digital transformation challenges as part of a professional consulting team. Students apply consulting tools and strategic frameworks to design viable digital products that address real business problems. The module develops high-demand employability skills—agile thinking, data-informed strategy, ethical awareness, and reflective leadership—preparing students to lead digital innovation in an increasingly complex global environment.

Module Overview

Human Resource Management (HRM) is increasingly seen as having an important strategic role in organisations today. Hence, areas such as foundations of workforce design, employee relations, and flexible working are examined. Their impact on the process, practices, and policies of HRM is also reviewed and analysed.

Contemporary issues faced by the HR function are considered. Managing a diverse workforce, corporate social responsibility, and issues pertaining to business ethics/ethical behaviour are discussed. The development of workplace culture though consideration of worker wellbeing and managing conflict are explored as is the social and ethical context of HR Management through legislation and unionism.

It also encourages critical reflection on contemporary workplace issues, preparing you to contribute to responsible and inclusive organisations in a rapidly changing global environment.

Integrated Supply Chain Systems and Networks is your final‑year capstone module, built around a live industry project where you tackle a real supply‑chain problem for an actual organisation. This is your chance to apply everything you’ve learned to design practical solutions that businesses genuinely need. You’ll explore how customer experience, transport decisions, sustainability goals and cross‑functional strategies all connect in real supply‑chain environments. Through a fun learning approach, facilitative teaching, and immersive real-life experience, you’ll develop the strategic thinking, leadership awareness and professional confidence that make you stand out in graduate supply‑chain and consulting roles.

Following your interests and passions – and supported by experienced researchers – you will have an opportunity to create and work on an original student-led research project that you can showcase to industry organisations and, in this way, make your research timely, relevant and impactful locally, nationally and internationally.

The course is accredited by the Chartered Management Institute (CMI). Students completing the degree can achieve a Level 5 Diploma in Management and Leadership from the CMI. Entry Requirements 2026-27

United Kingdom

96 to 104 UCAS Tariff points.

This must be achieved from a minimum of 2 A Levels or equivalent Level 3 qualifications. For example:

A Level: CCC to BCC

BTEC Extended Diploma: Distinction Merit Merit

T Level: Merit Overall

Access to Higher Education Diploma: 96 to 104 UCAS points to be achieved from 45 Level 3 credits.

International Baccalaureate: 28 points overall.

GCSE's: Minimum of three at grade 4 or above, which must include English. Equivalent Level 2 qualifications may be considered.

The University accepts a wide range of qualifications as the basis for entry and do accept a combination of qualifications which may include A Levels, BTECs, Extended Project Qualification (EPQ).

We may also consider applicants with extensive and relevant work experience and will give special individual consideration to those who do not meet the standard entry qualifications.
